Growclub offer ‘No Shave’ FUE Hair transplants using a technique known as the ‘Implanter Pen Method’, sometimes referred to as DHI.
This technique is the Gold Standard of FUE, offering exceptional density and results, quicker recovery and less scaring.
Traditional FUE and FUE Implanter Pen Method are both hair transplant techniques, but they differ in their implantation methods.
Traditional FUE with forceps placement involves 3 steps: Excision, Creating channels in the recipient area and Placing grafts with forceps.
The Implanter Pen Method is a 2 step process that uses a specialised implanter pen to directly implant grafts without pre-making incisions, saving time and increasing graft survival.
There are many benefits of the Implanter Pen method over traditional placement with forceps as listed below, but the most common one is that there is not a requirements to shave the head.
It is also known for its potential for higher precision in graft placement, stronger graft survival rates and natural-looking results.
Using the same process as traditional FUE, we extract the individual hair follicles from the donor area (typically the back and sides of head).
A specialized implanter pen (like the Choi Implanter Pen) is used to create recipient sites and insert grafts simultaneously. This means that the grafts spend less time out of the scalp, the scalp has less trauma and the treatment time can be shorter.
This method means the treatment can be carried out with shaving the recipient area.
As there are less steps involved, this can mean a reduced treatment time
As there is less trauma to the scalp and often smaller incisions using the pen like tool, it is aless invasive treatment than traditional FUE
Due to the technique used and the fact a full head shave is not required, recovery time is quicker
The tool used for implantation allows for better density, and is why it is particularly popular for hairline or frontal area treatments
Less time out of the body and less handling of the grafts means higher graft survival rates
The tool used by the doctor for placement of the grafts gives better control over the placement of the grafts
